ILM AN-NAFS – Science of the Soul: Themes in Islamic Psychology by Professor Dr. G. Hussein Rassool (E-Book)

$8.00
Books

Pages: 174

Implicit in the title of the book is an exploration of the themes of the Science of the Soul, better known as Islamic Psychology. Human nature and the process of behaviour and emotions are inherent holistic processes that integrate the physical. psychological, social and spiritual dimensions. Accordingly, the Islamic nature of the human being is whole, comprehensive and complete according to the Qur’ān and Sunnah. In essence, “Islam provides a balanced focus between universal principles of human behaviours (with its universal laws and Shar’iah or divine laws) and individual differences. The universal laws may include biological, social, psychological and economic dimensions based on empirical research. The Qur’ān and Hadith provide guidance and basis to the laws of human nature. These laws can be used as the foundation to develop theories about human nature based upon the writings of Muslim scholars and contemporary research findings.”

The concept of this book, reflected in the context and scope, attempts to address some themes in Islamic psychology and focuses the evolution of Islamic Psychology, the development of the science of the soul from classical Islamic scholars to contemporary thinkers. It examines the concepts of the Fitrah, nature and nurture, the Nafs (Soul), the Aql (Intellect), the Qalb (Heart) and Ibn al-Qayyim’s types of hearts. Other themes include models and approaches in Islamic psychology, spiritual motivation, spiritual capital, ethical intelligence, Tawbah and the process of change, learning theories and spiritual modelling: an Islamic perspective, altruistic or helping behaviour, obsessive-compulsive disorder and scrupulosity: spiritual or pathological?, de-colonising psychotherapy and counselling, and religious coping in an Islamic context.

$4.00
Books

Author: Hammad Khan

Pages: 55

This book covers the manners that a Muslim should observe when reciting and handling the Glorious Quran. The key feature which separates it from all other works previously published in this area is that, all the etiquette discussed are strictly derived from the Quran and Authentic Sunnah. Some of the topics covered in this book include opportune times for recitation, manners of recitation and handling of the Quran, plus a variety of other issues that every Muslim should be aware of. It also deals with many misconceptions surrounding the treatment of the Quran. To attain the utmost benefit from the Noble Quran, this book should be treated as a constant companion of the Quran and should be in every house that contains the Quran.

Author Introduction

Hammad Ali Khan was born in a Muslim family and even though he always considered himself somewhat practicing Muslim, he never really took the time to understand the Perfect Deen of Islam. All that changed in year 2011 when Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala guided him through His Mercy (with the help of Hammad’s sister) to the right path. Thus, began Hammad’s journey back to the True Deen preserved in the Quran and Authentic Sunnah.

To clear his head of all the years of information that he was fed in the name of Islam (some of it being true and most being just stories), Hammad wanted to undertake an in-depth study of the Quran and Authentic Sunnah. Being the Most Merciful, Allah enabled him to find International Open University (IOU) from where he completed the Diploma in Islamic Studies in Year 2013 followed by Higher Diploma in Islamic Studies (2016). In year 2019, Hammad attained his Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from the same university.

In his spare time, Hammad likes to dig deep into various Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh-related) issues, so they can be dealt with in the light of Quran and Authentic Sunnah. He runs a blog where he shares his research, which you can visit at: backtofoundation.wordpress.com

Risky Paths to Success

$10.00
Books

(10$ price includes shipping charges)

Hopes of a brighter future, better opportunities and financial freedom are just a few of the empty promises that human traffickers make to lure trusting Gambian youths into abandoning their families and their homelands. The reality is that a treacherous journey awaits youths that are duped into risking their lives for nothing more than broken promises and blatant fabrications. The book “Risky Path to Success” is an eye-opening read that is a no-holds barred depiction of what really happens to youths who are preyed upon by human traffickers and become trapped in a merciless cycle of exploitation. Most importantly, it provides sensible life lessons to inspire youths to become successful on their own merits, in their own country and without falling victim to traffickers who only care about their bottom line – money.
